Senior Summer Singles Leagues
Loretto Lee has completed all her matches and is to be congratulated for setting the pace and achieving seven points. Yvonne Walsh is very successful so far winning all her matches to date. Anne Dooley, double winner Lola Fernandez Palos and Sinead Reidy were also winners during the past week.
Harry and Martin O’ Rourke lead Groups 1 and 2 respectively of the men’s league. Des Windsor Mc Glynn, Sai Palada, Kieran Mc Carthy, Marek Rose, Jerome Schuwey and Samnel Agbanobi were also winners last week. Two happy players will be promoted from each group with the winners of the group 1 in each league reaching the top of their respective pyramids. All matches to be completed by 15th August with no walk overs allowed.

Men’s Summer Doubles League
Six foot six they stood on the court and together dominated play, gaining four points each, in last Monday’s men’s doubles summer league. Kieran Mc Carthy and Kevin Nolan, the tallest men in the club, were the mighty winners with John Cooney and Marek Rose in second place and gaining three points each. Viking George Bodor partnered John Hannon and were two point achievers while the following duos were awarded the minimum, Rob Kearney & John O Connell, John Bray & Sai Palada, Des Windsor Mc Glynn & Jimmy Raleigh, Dave Costello & Joe Dalby. Draw for partners in next Monday’s competition is at 7.30.
Wednesday’s Ladies Competition
Last Wednesday was once again a wash out with no tennis action by the ladies. This week’s weather seems more promising and the draw for partners is at 7.30, all lady members welcome to participate in the action.
Thursday’s Mixed Doubles Competition
Ten couples competed last Thursday evening, for two hours in two groups of five, the greatest number for mixed doubles in years. The duos in a round robin series of matches on courts 1 and 2 were Anne Dooley and Joe Dalby, Ann O’ Sullivan and Sean Reidy, Mary O’ Neill and Isaac Del Saz Palos, Rose Costello and Michael Doheny and Joan Conway and Deborah Mc Keown. Anne Dooley and Joe Dalby emerged as winners from the group.
Court 3 and 4 couples were Mary Jo O’ Farrell and Dave Costello, Viking George Bodor and Noirin Reidy, Evgeniya Yurchenko and Sai Palada, Julie Costello and Pat Conway, Lola Fernandez Palos and Marek Rose. All five couples emerged from this group with twelve games each, all winners. The ten couples had completed their series of matches and had played in a decisive final match by 9.30.
Covid 19 Recommendations
All members are urged to bring their own hand sanitizer, however the club will provide some where necessary. The use of the clubhouse is only to be used to access the toilets, one person in the clubhouse at any one time please.
Sunday’s Mixed Doubles
Last Sunday’s mixed doubles was very much a family affair with Lola and Isaac Del Saz Palos playing Rose and Dave Costello. They enjoyed over an hours tennis in the damp conditions. This event is organised every Sunday morning from 11am.
