COVID 19 Level 3 Restrictions
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday morning club doubles competitions are suspended under level 3 COVID restrictions. All junior and adult coaching sessions are also cancelled. Members are free to organise singles matches and doubles matches while maintaining all Government guidelines. Restricted use of the clubhouse is also in operation and members should use their own hand sanitiser or avail of the clubs, placed at the clubhouse door and at the entrance to courts 3 and 4.
Senior Autumn Singles Leagues
The ladies’ and men’s autumn leagues commenced last week. Des Windsor Mc Glynn is the early pace setter in Group A with three wins to his credit. Sai Palada was also a winner last week while Yvonne Walsh achieved two wins in Group C of the ladies’ league. Matches are the best of three tiebreak sets, the third may be a champion’s tiebreak, first to 10 and winning by 2. All matches to be completed by mid-November, with no walk overs allowed.

Men’s Autumn Doubles League
This league continued last Monday with Viking George Bodor and Sai Palada gaining four points each. Rob Kearney and Marek Rose were runners up and were awarded three points each. Sean Raftery and Fergus Groenendijk were two point achievers. Partnerships John Galvin and Benny Maginess, Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Dave Costello, Peter Agbanobi and John Hannon and Jan Groenendijk collected the minimum each. This league is suspended for the present as mentioned above.
Moate’s Invitation Mixed Doubles
Julie Costello and Richard Frank overcame Carmel Hayes and Keith Mc Kiernan in the final of Moate’s inaugural invitational mixed doubles competition last week. This successful tournament was organised by Carmel and Jimmy Raleigh and they are already planning next year’s event.
