Covid 19 Level 5 Guidelines
Among the guidelines published by Tennis Ireland, last Wednesday, were that singles play is only allowed on a casual basis for exercise purposes only and that doubles play is allowed only with a member from the same family. However Thursday morning, after consultation with Sport Ireland, Tennis Ireland instructed all clubs to “suspend all activities” with immediate effect. Consequently, our management committee, has closed the courts to all activity until further notice.
Court Maintenance
All members are very much aware of the poor condition of the courts, therefore it is planned that the courts will be power hosed during the present lockdown.

Covid 19guidelines and restrictions have dominated our lives for most of this year but January brought excellent news for the future of our club. WestmeathCounty Council Members, at a meeting on 23rd January 2020, approved a 50 year lease of circa 1.45 acres at Cloghanboy, for Athlone Tennis Club. Hopefully 2021 will see further development on the proposed site.
