Annual Ladies and Men’s Doubles Competitions
Our annual ladies and men’s doubles competitions will be played on Monday 13th and 14th with the finals on Thursday 16th June. The men will compete on the Monday with the ladies playing on Tuesday. The pairings for the Mens competition are: Jeremy Clarke and Matthew Conway; Tim Clarke and Marek Rose; Des Windsor McGlynn and Jimmy Raleigh; George Bodor and John Cooney; Evan Conway and John Bray. The draw for the Ladies event will take place on Tuesday evening at 7:30 sharp.
Senior Open
Athlone senior open competitions will commence on Sunday 26th June with the finals on Sunday 3rd July. The entry forms are now in the clubhouse or competitors may text Lisa at 0862215843. Our open will have ladies and men’s singles events in classes A, B and C with an over 45’s for men also. The ladies, men’s and mixed doubles competitions will have classes A and B.
Spring League
On completion of the league we have a new number one on the mens pyramid with Jeremy Clarke reaching the pinnacle for the first time. Older brother Tim is number two (is this another first - brothers at one and two?). Luciano Molinari is at three with Pawel Michalski at four. Paula Dowling retains her top place on the ladies pyramid followed by Lisa Brennan, Orla Kinahan and Melanie Samuels.
Connacht Open
Jimmy Raleigh, Pawel Michalski, Tomas Koza and Paula Dowling represented the club in Galway over the bank holiday weekend and performed with distinction, all four achieving notable victories along the way. Congratulations to all, especially Paula who was the overall winner in her section and Tomas a beaten finalist.
Junior Coaching
Clem Higginbotham will continue coaching on Saturdays for children under 7 at 10am. Children ages 8 to 11 have coaching at 11 and coaching for older children will start at 12. Clem can be contacted at 0864022490.

Social Tennis
Social tennis continues on three nights of every week and potential players wishing to have a go at playing the game are most welcome to come along, play commences at 7.30. Men compete every Monday, the ladies play every Tuesday while mixed doubles competitions are held every Thursday.
