Men’s Doubles Competition
The men’s s winter doubles competition will be ending soon and hopefully we will have a spring doubles league towards the end of the month. George Bodor and Edwardo were the winners last week. Des Windsor Mc Glynn and Alex Oscenas were runners up while Dave Costello and John Cooney were third. George is leading on 18 points followed by Kieran Mc Carthy on 16 and Jimmy Raleigh on 14.
Spring Leagues
The ladies and men’s singles spring leagues will be starting soon and closing date for registration is Thursday 16th February. Members may register by Viber or sign up on the official form in the clubhouse.
Junior Tennis
Coach Derek Stenson has commenced his tennis lessons for junior members for children aged from 4 to 17 years. The coaching is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays commencing at 4pm. For details of these sessions you may contact him at 0851080013 or email rallyvolleysmash@gmail.com.
Derek is setting up a Midlands tennis circuit where there will be matches for children from under 8 to under 16. He aims to have an event every month at a different club across the midlands. This is an exciting new adventure for midland tennis clubs and an excellent opportunity for our young players to meet and compete against other children.
Men’s Night
George Bodor and Edwardo were the winners at last week’s competition and this event is organised every week by men’s captain Des Windsor Mc Glynn.
Ladies Night
Joan Conway and Rose Costello were very competitive during ladies night for tennis last Tuesday.
Mixed Doubles Night
In the mixed doubles on Thursday Stephane Kenny and George Bodor were the winners both combining to play faultless tennis.
